ADA, Okla. – SWOSU Softball fell in game one on the day 12-6 before bouncing back to collect the only win of the series in the fourth and final contest 9-3. The Dawgs totaled five home runs on Saturday including four bombs in the nightcap that propelled them to victory.
The next two weekends of Great American Conference play SWOSU (8-10, 2-6 GAC) will be in Weatherford to host Southeastern and then Southern Arkansas. Through two weekends of conference play, the Dawgs sit tied for seventh in the league.
Game One

The first game features 25 combined hits that accounted for 18 total runs. SWOSU committed five errors in the contest which allowed eight of the 12 runs to score as unearned, proving to be the difference in the game.
ECU exploded for four and five runs in the first and third innings while tacking on one in the second, fourth and fifth frames to score 12.
Taya Haney hit a two-run homerun in the first inning to allow the Dawgs to jump out to a 2-0 lead, but the margin wouldn't last after the Tigers responded immediately.
Kaytlin Donaldson was charged with the loss after pitching 2.1 innings and allowing seven runs and now holds a 1-1 record. She was also the only Dawg to produce multiple hits in the game, while also driving in two RBIs.
Game Two

Tori Hawk all drove balls over the fence in the nightcap, driving in a total of five runs as all but Hawk's were solo shots. SWOSU was able to clean it up defensively, limiting their errors to just two and only allowing one unearned run on the contest.
The Bulldogs added insurance in the final inning with three runs thanks to two singles by West and a pinch-hitting
Sidney Kirk to help put the game out of reach. Hawk and King ended with three hits while West and
Abigail Schade each totaled two.
Taylor Eaves and
Taya Haney combined to throw the entire game with Haney pitching one less out than Eaves. The duo held ECU to just three runs, the lowest scoring performance East Central had in the entire series. Eaves also picked up her first win of the season and now holds a 1-4 record in the circle.
