ALVA, Okla. – After a seventh-inning comeback fell short in game one, the Bulldog Softball team took controlled game two start-to-finish to earn a rivalry split at Northwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday in Alva. SWOSU wins the four-game season series against the Rangers 3-1 and they improve to 16-30 (14-22 GAC) on the year, heading into a conference series at home against No. 5 Arkansas Tech this weekend.

Rileigh Ricken to get within two before the game ended with two runners on base.
Northwestern jumped on SWOSU starter
Taylor Eaves (6-9), who took the loss after allowing seven runs on seven hits with four walks in just 2.0 innings of work before Ricken closed it out and allowed just two hits over the final six frames.

Taya Haney, a two-run single from
Ashley Jones and another two-run single from
Samantha Householder that made it 9-0 after two frames.
SWOSU had 10 hits in the game, with Jones going 3-for-5 at the plate with five RBI in the game while Haney and Householder had two hits apiece. Haney (6-12) doubled up and pitched a complete game, allowing three hits and one run with four strikeouts in five innings of action as the game ended by run-rule after the fifth.
