Southeastern Claims Two Close Meetings from SWOSU Softball on Friday


DURANT, Okla. – Bulldog Softball played close with Southeastern during both games on Friday, but in the end it was the Savage Storm getting a two-run victory in each contest. The teams conclude their GAC series on Saturday at noon in Durant.

Tori Hawk hit two home runs, totaled four RBI and scored three runs but it was not quite enough as Southeastern scored five runs in the third inning and held on to win game one. Taya Haney added two RBI hits as part of her 3-for-4 hitting effort while Abigail Schade and Alex Wilson each had two hits apiece.
 
Haney (2-3) took the defeat after allowing six earned runs on seven hits in 2.2 innings of work before Taylor Eaves and Larie Amos also saw time in the circle.

A solo home run in the second inning and an RBI groundout in the fifth were the difference in game two as Southeastern completed the doubleheader sweep. SWOSU left runners on base in five of the seven innings, totaling seven runners left on thanks to their six hits. Schade and Miranda West each had two hits in the contest while Haney and Hawk had one apiece.
 
Kaley Reding (1-4) was credited with the loss after giving up the two earned runs on six hits in 5.0 innings of action before Amos returned to pitch the sixth.
