WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The SWOSU Women's Basketball survived the highest-scoring individual performance in Great American Conference history and defeated Southeastern Oklahoma State 94-88 on Senior Night at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
Rachel Wallace scored 48 points, accounting for more than half of the Savage Storm's offensive production and helping Southeastern continually keep the game within reach as SWOSU threatened to pull away. No other players on her team scored more than nine point and the rest of the team combined to make just 13 field goals in the game.
SWOSU, on the flip side, was led by senior
Jennifer Williams, who was one point off her career high with 25 points on 11-for-15 shooting and she missed just one two-point field goal attempt in the contest.
Janae Coffee enjoyed her Senior Night with yet another double-double, totaling 14 points and 11 rebounds in her final home contest. The freshman duo of
Hayden Priddy and
Hailey Tucker scored 14 and 13 points, respectively, as SWOSU shot 50% from the field and knocked down six three-pointers in the game.
"I'm proud of my girls for coming out and getting the win on Senior Night," SWOSU Head Coach
Kelsi Musick said. "We made our share of mistakes, but we were still able to score at a high enough rate and control the paint well enough to get the victory."
SWOSU (17-8, 13-6 GAC) moves into sole possession with their fifth consecutive victory couple with a Harding defeat on Thursday evening. The Lady Bulldogs are on the road for their final three games of the season, beginning on Saturday afternoon at Oklahoma Baptist.
