Setting the Scene:
- SWOSU Soccer clinched the regular season Great American Conference Championship, a number-one seed in the post-season tournament, and the privilege of hosting the 2016 GAC Women's Soccer Championships for their (12-4-1, 9-3 GAC) performance this season
- The Bulldogs will face the fourth seeded Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm starting at 3 pm on Thursday, November 3 out at the Athletic Complex
- The Dawgs split the regular season series with SNU, beating them 2-0 at home and losing 2-0 in the final regular-season game of the season just last week

The Coaches:

Mark Persson (80-59-13; 8th season)
- Since taking over the program in 2009, Persson has amassed an 80-59-13 record,Â
becoming the all-time winningest coach in program history
- Persson also led the Bulldogs to back-to-back GAC Championships in 2012 and 2013
- A two time All-Conference Coach of the Year, Persson holds a 37-24-7 record in GAC play
- He has coached one All-American, 12 All-Region players, and numerous All-Conference players during his time in Weatherford

Southern Nazarene: Julie Duncan (65-72-5; 7th season)
- Coach Duncan was the 2014 Great American Conference Coach of the Year after her team won the conference championship
- She has led the Crimson Storm to two SAC (NAIA) Conference Championships, including a runner-up finish in the NAIA National Championship game in 2009
- Duncan's coaching career began at Moore High School, where she coached the Moore girls' soccer program for 17 seasons

The Opponent:
Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm (7-11, 6-6 GAC)
- SNU finished fifth in the GAC standings, but qualified for the post season due to Oklahoma Baptist's provisional status with the league
- The Crimson Storm ended the season strong, winning five of their last seven matches to make the conference tournament and edge out ECU for the last spot
- Meagan Chase led the SNU attack during the season, finishing with a team-high nine goals
- Guarding the net, Natasha Fuentes collected 84 saves in 17 games with four shutouts to her credit, while giving up 31 goals on the year

Alimata Rabo ended up tied as the second-best goal scorer in the NCAA Division II with two other players with 22 goals scored on the season, one behind Bridgeport University's Idoia Agirre (23)

Sandra Nabweteme is next on that list, with her 19 goals good enough for fifth place overall in the Division II category
- SWOSU finished fifth in the country by averaging 3.71 goals per game
- The Bulldogs come into the GAC tournament having scored 63 goals, and conceded 20 on the year

Courtney Flores and the Dawg defense rank second in the GAC with six shutouts this season
- SWOSU had six different weeks where at least one player was awarded either the conference's offensive or defensive weekly honor. Rabo (offensive 3x), Nabweteme (offensive 2x), Brunet (defensive 2x), and Flores (goalkeeper 1x)

-The Bulldogs have a must win on Thursday or their season it over
- With a win over SNU, SWOSU will play for the GAC Tournament Championship on Saturday at 11 am against the winner of Ouachita (2) and Harding (3)
- The GAC Tournament Champion receives an automatic invitation to the NCAA Central Region Tournament which will begin the following Friday (Nov. 11) at the highest seed in the region's home site which at this current moment would be Central Missouri
