ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – SWOSU Volleyball saw their four-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday at the hands of Ouachita, who defeated the Dawgs 3-1 (25-22, 25-12, 17-25, 25-20).
Carly Zak led the Bulldogs with a match-high 18 kills and 16 digs, securing her second consecutive double-double.
Kayla Hebert also had a double-double with 37 assists and a team-leading 17 digs while
Kaitlyn Dillon added 11 digs, setting a new single-season freshman record for digs with 343.
Ouachita had the edge in hitting with a .233 hitting percentage compared to a mark of .126 for the Bulldogs, who were also at a disadvantage of 79-to-73 in digs and 8-to-5 in blocks. SWOSU did have eighth service aces – including four from
Blair Dressendorfer – but they also hurt themselves at the service line with a season-high 14 service errors.
SWOSU (9-14, 6-5 GAC) sees their season-best four-game winning streak snapped but they remain above .500 in league play with five consecutive home games upcoming. The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday with a non-conference match against St. Gregory's at 7:00 pm in the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
