Setting the Scene- The Bulldogs enter the second week of conference play with matching win and shutout streaks of four games. SWOSU will put those streaks on the line as they welcome the top two challengers to conference supremacy
- SWOSU starts off the week with a match against Harding on Thursday, October 1 at 3 pm. The two sides played to a scoreless tie the last time they met in Weatherford
- Reigning Great American Conference Tournament champion Ouachita visits the Athletic Complex for a match at 1 pm on Saturday, October 3. The Tigers handed SWOSU a 2-1 loss in Weatherford last season
Last Time Out- The Dawgs pushed their winning streak to four games with 2-0 and 4-0 victories over in-state rival Northwestern Oklahoma State and East Central respectively

The CoachesSWOSU: Mark Persson (61-51-11; 7th season)- This is
Mark Persson's seventh season in charge of the SWOSU soccer program
- Since taking over the program in 2009, Persson has amassed a 61-51-11 record,
becoming the all-time winningest coach in program history. He also led the Bulldogs to back-to-back Great American Conference Championships in 2012 and 2013
- A two time All-Conference Coach of the Year, Persson holds a 29-21-6 record in GAC play
- He has coached one All-American, 10 All-Region players, and numerous All-Conference players during his time in Weatherford
Harding: Dr. Greg Harris (100-131-18; 15th season)- Dr. Greg Harris, in his 15th season at Harding, is the longest-tenured coach in the GAC
- Dr. Harris is a three-time Gulf South Conference Coach of the Year, and earned the GAC Coach of the Year award once
- He has directed the Lady Bisons to the postseason eight times, including an NCAA Division II National Tournament appearance in 2004
- Dr. Harris is 2-7-1 against Persson
Ouachita Baptist: Kevin Wright (29-25-3; 4th season)- Kevin Wright is in his fourth season in charge of the Tigers after taking over the program for the 2012 season
- He has twice led OBU to the GAC Tournament Championships, claiming the title for the first time during the 2014 season
- Wright has developed two GAC Offensive Players of the Year, six First Team and seven Second Team All-GAC selections
- Wright is 1-4-1 against Persson
The OpponentsHarding (5-2-1, 2-0-0 GAC)- The Lady Bisons entered the week riding a GAC-best six-game unbeaten streak having won five and tied once. They last lost on September 6, 2-1, to Missouri Western State
- HU is averaging a league-best 23.62 shots per game and lead the league with 20 goals scored. However, 11 of those goals came against Central Baptist (NAIA) and Hendrix College (Division III). Bethany Sutherland is tied for the conference lead with six goals
- With five clean sheets, Harding is tied with SWOSU as leaders in the category. Kaitlyn Miller boasts a GAC-leading .87 goals-against average
- Asia Hollingsworth and Melita Sutherland both top the GAC with three assists
Ouachita Baptist (3-4-0, 2-0-0 GAC)- OBU rode a four-game losing streak into conference play before dispatching Southern Nazarene and Oklahoma Baptist by a combined scoreline of 5-1 last week
- The Tigers have the third-best offense in the league, averaging 1.86 goals per game on an average of 13.71 shots. Haley Hatcher, the GAC's reigning Offensive Player of the Year, leads the offense with four goals
- OBU has recorded an assist on 53.9 percent of their goals, and Alyssa Aguilar is tied for third in the GAC with two to her credit
- Holding a 2.44 GAA, Ouachita trends towards the bottom half of the league in scoring defense. Keeper Lauren Llanes has the second-lowest save percentage in the GAC at .758
GAC Offensive Player of the Week- Nunez was named the GAC Offensive Player of the Week for her three-goal performance across two games last week. It's the third straight week a Bulldog has earned a weekly honor from the conference
- The redshirt senior scored both game-winning goals against Northwestern and ECU
- Her second goal against ECU tied her for the career record in goals scored at 22
- This is the first time Nunez has won the award since September 10, 2013
Checking the Standings- SWOSU sits atop the standings at 2-0 and a conference-best .750 winning percentage
- Harding is the only other team with a winning record. The Lady Bisons and Ouachita are also currently 2-0 in league play
- ECU is the only other team with a GAC win and are 1-1
- OKBU, SNU and Northwestern are all still searching for their first conference wins
Bulldog Offensive Notes- Nunez has scored five goals in her last three games and is tied for the GAC-lead with six goals this season. She is also tied for the most points in the league with 13 (6g, 1a)
- SWOSU is averaging 17.62 shots through eight games, nearly doubling the same average through eight games from last year (9.25). The Bulldogs have improved their win total six-fold over the same span of games
- The Dawgs took 31 shots against Northwestern, the fifth-best mark in a single game.
Cori Kelly tied for the seventh-most shots by an individual in a single match by shooting seven times in the same contest
- Four Bulldogs rank in the Top 10 in points in the GAC: Nunez (13), Kelly (5), Brunet (4) and

- SWOSU has recorded five multi-goal games this season. The
Bulldog Defensive Notes- Flores needs just two shutouts to tie the GAC record set by former Bulldog Corey LaMoureaux at 16
- Two more clean sheets by the defense will tie the best shutout streak by a SWOSU team at six. The record was set in the 2012 season when SWOSU opened the season 20-0-1
- The Bulldogs have played 360:02 minutes without conceding a single goal
- SWOSU has conceded just two goals in their last seven matches, and opponnents are scoring just .88 goals per game against the Bulldogs
- Brunet leads all defenders in the GAC with two goals scored this season. She is 2-2 from the penalty spot
