Setting the Scene- SWOSU opens conference play with matches against in-state rival Northwestern Oklahoma State and East Central
- The Bulldogs open Great American Conference play at home on Tuesday, Sept. 22 as they kickoff against the Rangers at 3 pm at the Athletic Complex. SWOSU tied Northwestern 0-0 in Weatherford last season
- SWOSU goes on the road to Ada, Okla., for their match with East Central on Thursday, Sept. 24 , with kickoff slated for 4 pm. The Dawgs lost 2-1 in overtime to the Tigers last season in Ada

Mark Persson's seventh season in charge of the SWOSU soccer program
- Since taking over the program in 2009, Persson has amassed a 59-51-11 record,
becoming the all-time winningest coach in program history. He also led the Bulldogs to back-to-back Great American Conference Championships in 2012 and 2013
- A two time All-Conference Coach of the Year, Persson holds a 29-21-6 record in GAC play
- He has coached one All-American, 10 All-Region players, and numerous All-Conference players during his time in Weatherford
Northwestern Oklahoma State: Craig Liddell (1-2-1; 1st season)- Craig Liddell was named head coach of the Rangers Jan. 30, 2015, and is the third head coach in program history
- Liddell has spent the last 14 seasons as both the boys' and girls' soccer coach at Enid HS, where he also taught biology
- Earned National Soccer Coaches of America Association State Coach of the Year awards in 2009 and 2011, and was the NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year in 2009
- This is the first meeting between Liddell and Persson
East Central: Riley Bailey (31-41-9; 7th season)- Riley Bailey enters his seventh season at the helm for the Tigers
- Led ECU to both regular season and GAC Tournament titles in 2011, and led the Tigers to the GAC Semifinals in 2012
- Mentored Margaret Glutz, the first player to ever earn All-GAC honors four years in a row
- Has had previous stints as coach at Ada HS, Lambuth (Tenn.) and as an assistant at ECU
- Bailey is 3-6-1 against Persson

- On the other end of the pitch, Briana Legaspi has been active in keeping the Rangers in the match. She leads the nation with a 13.25 saves per game average

- Chloe Hull has started all six games for the Tigers in goal, and holds an 1-4-0 record this season. She boasts a 2.43 goals against average and .774 save percentage. Her 43 total saves are the sixth-best total in NCAA Division II
- The defense has given up 15 goals on 108 total shots. Nine of the goals have come in the second half
Checking the Standings- Through the first three weeks of the season, SWOSU boasts a league-best four wins
- Oklahoma Baptist, Harding and Southern Nazarene are also at or above .500, with OKBU sharing a GAC-leading .667 win percentage with the Dawgs
- As a result of Northwestern's win over Oklahoma Christian, every team in the GAC has secured its first win of the season
Bulldog Offensive Notes- With her game-winning goal against OC, Elrod recorded her first career goal for the Bulldogs
- Two goals for Nunez brings her closer to the all-time scoring record. She currently has 19 career goals, three short of

Jasmine Heffley- The Dawgs are averaging 13.67 shots per game, and boast a shots-on-goal percentage of .561. Nunez leads the team with 20 shots and 12 SOG

Looking Ahead- A pair of home GAC contests await the Bulldogs next week as Harding and Ouachita make the trip to Weatherford
- SWOSU will first take on the Lady Bisons of Harding on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 3 pm. The Dawgs tied Harding 0-0 the last time the two sides met in Weatherford
- The Tigers from Ouachita will visit the Athletic Complex on Saturday, Oct. 3 for a 1 pm kickoff. SWOSU fell 2-1 in the last meeting between the teams in Weatherford last year, with Kelly scoring the goal for SWOSU
