WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU left nine runners on base, including runners in scoring position in each of the final four innings, as they were shutout for the seventh time this season, falling 1-0 to Harding on Monday afternoon.
Austin Hilton threw his first complete game of the season, striking out three in a five-hit effort. The only run he allowed came in the second inning before he got a Harding batter to ground into a double play end get out of a jam. Hilton, however, was saddle with the loss, falling to 3-6 on the year.
Jacob Spring and
Zach Barton provided the bright spots on offense, combining for five of the Bulldogs seven hits. Spring tripled twice and reached third base on three separate occasions, but he was stranded their each time. Barton was 2-for-4 at the plate, including a single to lead off the top of the ninth inning.

Nolan Barrientos went down swinging with two out and two on in the final frame to end the game.
The defeat is the eighth consecutive for the Bulldogs, dropping them to 16-26 and out of contention for the Great American Conference Tournament at 9-18 in league play. SWOSU will host one final home game tomorrow at 3:00 pm against Cameron from the Athletic Complex.
