A four-run second inning helped Arkansas Tech build their lead and three runs in the ninth inning cemented things as the Wonder Boys took the Saturday opener. SWOSU had 11 hits in the game, including a 2-for-4 game from Dalton Daniels that included a leadoff triple in the fifth inning, but the closes they got was within three at 6-3 after scoring twice in the fifth.

Connor Garcia started and took the loss, allowing six runs and six hits in 3.2 innings of work, and he falls to 1-5 on the year. Ethan Davis pitched the final 5.1 innings, holding ATU scoreless for four straight frames before they put up three runs in the ninth.

The story was similar in the series finale as ATU build an early lead and pounded out 20 hits as they clinched the sweep. The Wonder Boys scored three runs in the second, five in the fourth, two in the fifth and four in the seventh, while SWOSU scored all four of their runs between the fourth and sixth innings.

Daniels had another strong game at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 with an RBI single in the sixth. Jacob Spring, Nolan Barrientos and Zach Barton also had multi-hit games, with Spring, Barton and Rapp accounting for the other runs coming across.

Four different SWOSU pitchers were used, each giving up five hits, but started Austin Hilton (3-5) was tagged with the loss after allowing five hits and three runs in the opening 1.2 innings.
