WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU's seniors fueled the offense as the Bulldogs dropped a 5-0 score line on East Central. With the win, SWOSU clinched their third Great American Conference Tournament berth in four years.
Every ball
Charlotte Eastman touched turned to gold, as she notched the Bulldogs' first hat trick since October 16, 2011 when
Kelsey Visor score four against Harding. Her goals in the seventh, 53rd and 57th minute all came from corner kicks, including two headers. Eastman's first goal stood as the game-winner, her second such goal of the season.
Another senior,
Samantha Nunez, also had a notable outing as she scored her seventh goal of the season. As a result of the goal, Nunez moved into sole possession of the all-time scoring record with 23 in her career account. She tied the record earlier this season when she bagged a brace against the same East Central team in Ada, Oklahoma, in a 4-0 victory.
SWOSU struck earlier through Eastman, as
Olivia Butler's corner kick fell directly to Eastman's forehead. The headed shot went low, squirting through the legs of East Central's Chloe Hull and just over the line in the seventh minute of play.
The Dawgs doubled the advantage in the 29th minute thanks to Nunez. With the Tigers pressing for an equalizer, SWOSU's No. 9 latched onto the ball in the middle third of the pitch and streaked down the left wing. Pushing past two defenders, she sent her shot past Hull, far post.
Cori Kelly was the third senior to find joy in the first half. Receiving a ball from
Ashlyn Collier, Kelly pushed it onto her left foot and sent the ball in off the right post in the 39th minute to punch an exclamation mark on the first half's proceedings. The Bulldogs went into the interval carrying a 3-0 lead.
Eastman tacked on two more goals in the second half within 12 minutes of the restart off corners. The first came off a short corner, ending in a right-footed finish off the low cross from Kelly in the 53rd minute.
Kylee Bertrand then expertly recreated Butler's pass from the corner in the 57th minute, placing the ball perfectly on Eastman's head for the fifth and final goal.
SWOSU's offense posted 14 points in the match on five goals and four assists, the fifth-most points in program history for an individual match. The Bulldogs' five goals also tied for fifth-most in a single game, matching a mark set against ECU on November 8, 2013. With four assists, SWOSU tied for the third-most assists in a single match.
The Bulldog defense posted their eighth shutout in nine games, though no goalkeeper received credit for the shutout.
Adrienne Streetman made her first career start, earning a first career victory on the strength of career-high three saves. Flores played the final 45 minutes of the match, recording one save to preserve the clean sheet.

The Bulldogs will go on the road for their next two matches, facing crucial away tests against Ouachita Baptist and Harding.
