Setting the Scene- SWOSU Soccer resumes two of their most-played rivalries with matches against Northwestern Oklahoma State and East Central. East Central is the most-played rivalry in Bulldogs history
- The Bulldogs wrap up their three-game road swing with a trip to Alva, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, October 13 at 6 pm against Northwestern.
Samantha Nunez and
Charlotte Eastman did the damage for SWOSU in a 2-0 home victory over the in-state rivals earlier this year
- SWOSU then returns home for an 11 am contest against ECU at the Athletic Complex on Saturday, October 17. The Dawgs posted their high watermark with four goals against the Tigers in Ada, Oklahoma, on September 22. Nunez bagged a brace, and

The CoachesSWOSU: Mark Persson (64-51-12; 7th season)- This is
Mark Persson's seventh season in charge of the SWOSU soccer program
- Since taking over the program in 2009, Persson has amassed a 61-51-11 record,Â
becoming the all-time winningest coach in program history. He also led the Bulldogs to back-to-back Great American Conference Championships in 2012 and 2013
- A two time All-Conference Coach of the Year, Persson holds a 29-21-6 record in GAC play
- He has coached one All-American, 10 All-Region players, and numerous All-Conference players during his time in Weatherford
Northwestern Oklahoma State: Craig Liddell (2-8-1; 1st season)- Craig Liddell was named head coach of the Rangers January 30, 2015, and is the third head coach in program history
- Liddell has spent the last 14 seasons as both the boys' and girls' soccer coach at Enid HS, where he also taught biology
- Earned National Soccer Coaches of America Association State Coach of the Year awards in 2009Â and 2011, and was the NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year in 2009
- Liddell lost to Persson in the coaches' first meeting earlier this season
East Central: Riley Bailey (30-47-8; 7th season)- Riley Bailey enters his seventh season at the helm for the Tigers
- Led ECU to both regular season and GAC Tournament titles in 2011, and led the Tigers to the GAC Semifi nals in 2012
- Mentored Margaret Glutz, the fi rst player to ever earn All-GAC honors four years in a row
- Has had previous stints as coach at Ada HS, Lambuth (Tenn.) and as an assistant at ECU
- Bailey is 3-7-1 against Persson
The OpponentsNorthwestern Oklahoma State (2-8-1, 0-6-0 GAC)- The Rangers dropped a pair of road matches to SNU and OKBU by a combined scoreline of 5-0 and come into Tuesday night's match riding a five-match losing streak
- Northwestern's offense has struggled to generate chances this season, averaging a conference-low 7.36 shots per game. Kelsey Leveling and Arlet Polack lead the team with 1.09 shots per game
- With so few shots, goals have been hard to come by. The Rangers have scored just three goals this season. Levling, Polack and Jordan Gomes each have one this season
- Briana Legaspi has been active in goal, and ranks third in NCAA Division II with 11.0 saves per game. She is second in the league with a .824 save percentage, but has the second-worst goals-against average at 2.36
- The Rangers hold a conference-worst -2.00 scoring margin
East Central (3-9-0, 2-4-0 GAC)- The Tigers fell by matching 3-0 score lines to Ouachita Baptist and Harding last week in Arkadelphia and are riding a three-game losing skid
- East Central is averaging 13.0 shots per game. Taylor Kennedy leads the team ans is ninth in the GAC with 2.67
- Averaging 1.08 goals per game, the Tigers rank fifth in the conference. Kennedy has done most of the work up front for ECU, scoring six goals, tied for the third-best mark in the conference, and recording 14 points in 12 games
- Chloe Hull ranks 21st in Division II with an average of 7.0 saves per game and 14th in total saves with 84. However, she has given up 25 goals, the most in the conference, en route to a 2.22 GAA
- The defense has helped Hull to two shutouts on the season, but boast a -1.17 scoring margin, the second-worst margin in the league Â
Flores Sets GAC Record- Entering the last week needing one shutout to tie the conference and program a career mark for shutouts,
Courtney Flores did one better by breaking the record with 17 career clean sheets
- Flores entered the season with nine shutouts, ranking third on the career leaderboard
- This season, the junior goalkeeper has picked up eight shutouts, nearly doubling her career output with six games left in the regular season
- The record was previously held by former Bulldog Corey LaMoureauxÂ
Checking the Standings- SWOSU moved back into a tie with Harding for the top spot on 16 points after two wins last season
- Ouachita stands alone in third with a 4-2 record, good for 12 points
- Three teams are tied on 6 points with 2-4 records: OKBU, SNU and East Central
- Northwestern is still searching for their first point in GAC play, currently sitting at 0-6
Bulldog Offensive Notes- SWOSU is one of just two teams in the GAC with over 200 shots this season, and their average of 18.3 shots per game is second in the league. Nunez is third in total shots (45) and fourth in shots per game (3.75). Kelly is second on the team with 39 shots for an average of 3.25
- The Dawgs' 22 goals is the second-best output in the league, and they hold a +1.08 scoring margin. Nunez leads the team with six goals, while Kelly is second on the team with four
- SWOSU has assisted on 54.5 percent of their goals, led by Nunez with three. Kelly and
Eva Rule are tied for second with two each
- Nine different players have scored at least one goal for SWOSU this season
Bulldog Defensive Notes- Flores and the backline of
Dajhane Turner,
Erica Brunet,
Kylee Bertrand,
Amaris Garcia and Eastman combined for eight shutouts and kept seven of their last eight opponents off the board
- The defense is averaging .67 shutouts per game, the eighth-best mark in Division II
- Eastman and Brunet both have three goals this season. Eastman became the career goals leader for SWOSU players with 12 goals to her credit
- SWOSU has given up just nine goals this season, tied for the lowest amount in the GAC
Looking Ahead- SWOSU hits the road for their final two road matches of the season when they head to Arkansas for contests against Harding and Ouachita
