WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The SWOSU Volleyball team dropped a tightly-contested Great American Conference match against Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday night, falling 3-1 to the Bison at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
The match was very balanced statistically with Oklahoma Baptist outhitting SWOSU .259-to-.207 and recording nine blocks to four for the Bulldogs while SWOSU had 90 digs compared to 83 for OBU and the teams had matching numbers of 58 kills and 53 assists.
Carly Zak led the Bulldogs with another double-double of 14 kills and a career-high 19 digs to go along with a team-high three blocks. The reigning GAC Player of the Week had a .204 hitting percentage and two service aces to lead the Dawgs with 18.0 points scored.
Jill Green added a career-high 13 kills on 36 attempts and
Kelsi Schmidtberger reached double figures with 10 kills as well.
Kayla Hebert had a new season-high with 50 assists and 14 digs for her seventh double-double of the season while
Kaila Lancaster had 18 digs and two assists and
Lindsey McCauley added 16 digs.
The loss evens the Bulldogs record at 6-6 on the year and drops them to 3-2 in Great American Conference play. SWOSU steps away from conference play for their next three matches, beginning with a triangular on Saturday in Canyon, Texas, where they will play Oklahoma City and West Texas A&M.
