ALVA, Okla. – An hour delay to the start of the match and first-set defeat served as no deterrence for the SWOSU Volleyball team on Thursday evening as the Bulldogs responded to win the second and third sets and take a 2-1 lead over rival Northwestern Oklahoma State. SWOSU, however, was unable to hold off the Rangers push and suffered the 3-2 (23-25, 25-23, 27-25, 22-25, 11-15) defeat.
Carly Zak led SWOSU with 20 kills and hit .196 for the match while

Shayne Haley matched her career-best – also against Northwestern – with 13 and added 11 digs for a double-double.
Brandy Mader recorded her third consecutive double-double, and 13th of the season, finishing with 51 assists and 13 digs.
Kenya Williams matched her career high with 27 digs and she was one of five players to reach double figures as the Bulldogs totaled 96 digs for the match.
Kaila Lancaster also added 20 digs while

Taylor VanderWerff leading SWOSU with five assist blocks while Mader and
Kiley Brennfoerder had four apiece.
The defeat drops SWOSU to 8-17 on the year and concludes Great American Conference play at 5-9, locking the Bulldogs into the No. 8 seed at the upcoming GAC Tournament. Before the tournament, however, SWOSU concludes the regular season next Tuesday evening at Cameron.
