LAWTON, Okla. – The regular season finale for the SWOSU volleyball team did not go as the Bulldogs envisioned as they suffered a 3-0 (9-25, 15-25, 12-25) defeat to Cameron on Tuesday night in Lawton as the Aggies completed a season-sweep of the Dawgs.
SWOSU struggled offensively throughout, finishing with 24 kills and 23 attack errors for a .011 hitting percentage for the match. The Bulldogs also got bettered by Cameron in digs (45-33) and blocks (6-2) on a night they were unable to get anything going.
Joey Collins finished with seven kills, leaving her 12 shy of 1,000 for her career, and
Carly Zak finished with six for the Bulldogs. A trio of other players –
Brandy Mader,
DeLayni Fine and
Shayne Haley – had three kills apiece. Mader had 12 assists to lead the Dawgs while
Kenya Williams had a team-best nine digs.
SWOSU now heads to the GAC Tournament with an 8-18 record and they will face top-seeded Arkansas Tech on Thursday at 5:00 pm in Hot Springs, Ark.
