KENOSHA, Wisc. – Great American
Conference Player of the Year Wouter MyBurgh shot a 69 on Monday in the first round of the
NCAA Division II Central/Midwest Super Regional, helping SWOSU to a share of
10th place.
MyBurgh is four shots
off the lead and one shot ahead of Jake Duvall, who carded a 70 in the
tournament’s opening round. MyBurgh is tied for ninth place while Duvall sits
in a tie for 12th.
Tommy Sterling shot a 77
and Vincent Strong came in with a 79 to round out the scoring while Jordan Hudson was one shot behind with an 80.
The University of
Missouri-St. Louis leads the tournament with a team total of 283 after the
first day. SWOSU’s team total of 295 is tied with three others – Washburn,
Indianapolis and Ferris State – but the Bulldogs are within just six shots of
fifth place.
