Brad Fleetwood has taken the SWOSU Golf programs to new heights since arriving in January 2013 and enters his 15th season leading the Men's and Women's Golf programs in 2026-27. He has been named WGCA Central Region Women's Coach of the Year in two of the past three seasons, earning the honor in 2024 and 2026.
In 14 years, Fleetwood's programs have missed NCAA Regional Tournament representation only three times combined while making six team National Championship appearances. The SWOSU women have accounted for four of those appearances, highlighted by NCAA Central Region championships in 2019 and 2026.
Fleetwood guided the Lady Bulldogs through one of the best seasons in program history in 2025-26. SWOSU won three tournaments, including the program's second NCAA Central Region Championship, and recorded seven top-three finishes despite competing with a five-player roster throughout the season. The Lady Bulldogs advanced to the NCAA Division II Championships for the fourth time and finished tied for ninth nationally, the second-best finish in program history and best among Central Region teams at the championship.
Freya Sala became the first Lady Bulldog to win the NCAA Central Region individual championship and finished tied for 10th at the NCAA Championships before earning WGCA Second Team All-America honors for the second consecutive season. Sala and freshman Maria Velilla were both named All-Central Region, while Velilla was named GAC Freshman of the Year. In the classroom, SWOSU finished 19th nationally with a 3.707 team GPA and placed three golfers on the WGCA All-American Scholar list.
The 2026 season added to an already strong postseason history for the women's program under Fleetwood. SWOSU won its first NCAA Central Region Championship in 2019 and advanced to the national semifinals in match play, highlighted by Gloria Choi's individual national runner-up finish. In 2024, the Lady Bulldogs finished as regional runners-up and qualified for nationals before Sala won the GAC individual championship and Drew Dodgion qualified individually for nationals the following season.
On the men's side, SWOSU has maintained NCAA postseason representation in each of the past two seasons through individual qualifiers to the Central/Midwest Super Regional. In 2026, Conrado Diaz Ermacora finished tied for 10th among more than 100 competitors after earning Second Team All-GAC honors and placing third at the GAC Championships.
Since arriving in Weatherford, Fleetwood has earned four Coach of the Year honors between the WGCA and Great American Conference. His GAC honors came with the men's program in 2016 and women's program in 2024. He has coached 73 All-GAC selections, 61 All-American Scholars, 25 All-Region honorees, five GAC Freshmen of the Year, three GAC Players of the Year, five All-Americans and five SWOSU Athletes of the Year.
Fleetwood came to SWOSU with NCAA Division I experience after serving as an assistant coach at Jacksonville State University from 2008-12. He helped the Gamecocks win four Ohio Valley Conference championships, advance to five NCAA Division I Regionals and coached two OVC Players of the Year and five Freshmen of the Year. Fleetwood was also twice nominated for the GCAA Jan Strickland Assistant Coach of the Year Award.
Prior to Jacksonville State, Fleetwood served as a graduate assistant and assistant coach at his alma mater, Northeastern State University, from 2004-08. The RiverHawks secured seven NCAA Regional bids, including two National Championship appearances, during his tenure.
A native of Duncan, Oklahoma, Fleetwood has one daughter, Ally Catherine. He holds two degrees from Northeastern State, earning his bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 2005 and master's degree in Health and Kinesiology in 2007.
