Dr. Bo Pagliasotti enters his 10th year as Southwestern Oklahoma State University's Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) in 2026, a role he has held since 2017. He also serves as chair of the SWOSU Department of Kinesiology and Director of the Sports Management Master's Program.
Â
As FAR, Pagliasotti serves as a liaison between the university, SWOSU Athletics and the NCAA while reporting directly to the university president. His work focuses on supporting student-athlete academic success and strengthening communication between faculty and athletics.
Â
Pagliasotti's work has earned national recognition, including being named among the top candidates for NCAA Division II Faculty Athletics Representative of the Year in consecutive years. He was one of eight national finalists for the award in 2024 and was again among the top candidates in 2025. He also received an NCAA service award in 2025 recognizing his work on the Division II Management Council.
Â
Pagliasotti served as the Great American Conference's lone representative on the 28-member NCAA Division II Management Council from 2021-26, participating in multiple subcommittees and mentoring roles. He has also served on the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Committee, including time as chair. During his tenure, the committee awarded more than $5 million to approximately 500 student-athletes pursuing graduate degrees across all three NCAA divisions.
Â
In 2024, Pagliasotti was selected as an NCAA Division II FAR Fellow through the GAC and later earned selection to the NCAA Division II FAR Advanced Leadership Institute, a yearlong program for past fellows focused on national initiatives involving student-athlete support and faculty-athletics collaboration. He has also participated in national discussions surrounding student-athlete support and compliance as a panelist at the Faculty Athletics Representatives Association national convention and presenter at the NCAA National Convention.
Â
At SWOSU and within the GAC, Pagliasotti has helped establish several initiatives supporting student-athletes. As the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) sponsor, he helped develop the GAC SAAC when the conference was formed. He helped create SWOSU's chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma, the national honor society for student-athletes. He also brought EPIC Global Solutions to campus to provide education on the risks of sports wagering, has served as chair of the GAC FAR Council and worked with the SWOSU Faculty Senate to establish a permanent seat for the FAR.
Â
Prior to becoming FAR, Pagliasotti spent 10 years coaching at SWOSU. He started the Bulldog Volleyball program in 2005 and served as head coach until 2011. During his coaching tenure, he represented both the Lone Star and Great American Conferences for seven years on the NCAA Division II National Head Coaches Committee with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). He also served on the NCAA Regional Ranking Committee and NCAA Volleyball Rules Committee and as a mentor in the AVCA Mentors Program.
Â
Pagliasotti came to SWOSU in 2005 following three years as head coach at Clarendon College after beginning his coaching career at Texas A&M-Commerce. He earned his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology/Literature in 1997 and master's degree in Kinesiology in 2000 from Texas A&M-Commerce and later completed his doctorate in Sports Management in 2020 at United States Sports University.
