Jason Muñoz is in his second stint as an assistant coach for SWOSU Volleyball program after previously assisting during the 2007-08 seasons.
Since graduating from SWOSU, Muñoz went on to serve eight years as lead assistant at Oklahoma Baptist, where he was recognized as the 2012 NAIA Assistant Coach of the Year and among the 30 under 30 coaches as named by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Muñoz then accepted the head coaching position at Oklahoma City University, where he led the Stars to a 23-7 record and NAIA National Tournament appearance in his lone season leading the program.
In his time at OBU and OCU, Muñoz guided seven NAIA All-Americans, three NCCAA All-Americans, 35 all-conference performancers, two SAC Players of the Year, three SAC Setters of the Year, one SAC Hitter of the Year, one SAC Libero of the Year and one GAC Defensive Player of the Year. In addition, he coached seven NAIA scholar-athletes and seven CoSIDA Academic All-District honorees.
A native of Oklahoma City, Muñoz owns a bachelor's degree in Parks & Recreation Management and a master's degree in Sports Management from SWOSU. He also completed his master of arts in Applied Biblical Studies from the Moody Bible Institute.
