Allison Brown

Allison Brown is in her second season as a member of the SWOSU Volleyball coaching staff in 2014. She came to SWOSU following a standout playing career at Presbyterian College in South Carolina.

In her first year at SWOSU, Brown helped the Bulldogs defense improve immensely and shatter several school records for blocking. The Bulldogs finished with 249 blocks, more than 30 over the previous season, while middle hitters Alison Cole and Kiley Brennfoerder notched more than 100 blocks apiece. SWOSU also matched their third-highest win total in Brown’s first season.

Prior to coming to SWOSU, Brown was a four-year starter for Presbyterian, splitting time playing at the rightside and middle hitter positions. She played for the Blue Hose from 2009-12, starting 60-of-61 matches during the final two years of her career.

Brown ranks among the top five in several Division I-era career records at Presbyterian, including kills, assists and blocks. She ranks second in career blocks and fourth in kills with 860. She ranked among the top three on the team in kills in each of her four seasons. Brown was named to the Big South Conference all-freshman team in 2009 and she earned all-tournament team honors at Clemson in 2009 and College of Charleston in 2012.

A native of Plano, Texas, Brown was a two-time Most Outstanding Offensive Player at Plano East HS, where she also garnered second-team all-district accolades. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Presbyterian College in May 2013 and she is now pursuing a master’s degree from SWOSU.
