Jennifer Johnson became the Head Cross Country / Track & Field Coach in 2020 after serving as the interim coach for the 2019 season. Since taking the reigns, Johnson has improved the Bulldogs from an 11th place finish at the GAC Championships in 2019 to seventh in the fall of 2021.
Johnson is an alum of the SWOSU Cross Country program, having competed for the Bulldogs from 2010-12. She was a Second Team All-Lone Star Conference selection in 2011 and still has a career-best time that ranks among the top 10 in program history. Since graduation, Johnson remained in Weatherford and helped as a volunteer assistant at Weatherford High School and remained active running as a three-time qualifier for the Boston Marathon.
A native of Chickasha, Okla., Johnson owns two degrees from SWOSU, earning a bachelor's in Mass Communication in 2012 and a master's in Parks & Recreation Management in 2013. She is now pursuing a master's in Sports Management.
