Renneker-17

Lauren Renneker

Lauren Renneker joins SWOSU Softball as the newest addition to the coaching staff for the 2018 season. She will predominantly work with the pitchers, but will look to provide the Bulldogs with prior playing knowledge in all areas of the game.

After playing her final season at Cameron University, Renneker spent one year as a student assistant under her previous head coach Rodney DeLong in 2016.

Prior to her coaching stint, Renneker had a standout senior season as an Aggie in only one year playing at Cameron. She set a single-season school homerun record with 21 long balls and fell just three runs batted in shy of the single-season RBI record with 67. Her spectacular season landed her on the All-Region team, as well as giving her All-Conference honors and the Lonestar Conference Newcomer of the Year award.

Renneker spent her first three seasons as a player at Southeastern where she and the Savage Storm collected a GAC Championship in 2013 as a sophomore and finished third at the NCAA Division II World Series a year later as a junior in what would be her final season at Southeastern.

In high school, Renneker attended MacArthur High School in Lawton and was a part of the 2008 and 2009 state championship teams. She capped her career off by being named an All-American pitcher in 2011.

Renneker is the daughter of Gladys Renneker, a four-time All-American pitcher at Central Oklahoma and spent 10 years herself coaching at Cameron University.

A native of Lawton, Oklahoma, Renneker holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sports Management from Cameron and will pursue a Sports Management master’s degree from SWOSU starting in the fall of 2017.
