Entering his first season as an assistant coach for SWOSU Softball is Derek Bennett. Bennett will be in charge of working with the outfield during the 2016 season.
Bennett comes to SWOSU after spending the past several years as an assistant coach. Most recently, he served as an assistant coach for Utah State for the 2014-15 season. Prior to serving as an assistant for the Aggies, Bennett was the associate head softball coach at Logan (Utah) HS from 2013-14, and also assisted the Logan HS baseball team during the 2006-07 seasons.
The Logan, Utah-native earned bachelor's degrees in Human Development and French from Utah State in 2013. He is now pursuing a master's degree in School Counseling from SWOSU.
