Dustin Hada is entering his sixth season on the SWOSU Football staff after being one of the first assistant coaches appointed by Dan Cocannouer in 2009. Hada works with the Bulldogs offensive lineman while also serving as the Run Game Coordinator.

SWOSU’s running game took another step forward in 2013, averaging 161.9 yards per game on the ground behind a veteran offensive line had three players – Nathan Butler, Mack Cannon and Derrick Shelton – earn All-Great American Conference honorable mention honors. The increased offensive balance helped the Bulldogs finish with the season 6-5, with the program’s first winning season since 2007.

In 2012, offensive lineman Kane Bryen and running back Aaron Wilson were honorable mention All-Great American Conference selections after helping the Bulldogs rush for 144.0 yards per game, a mark that ranked fifth in the GAC. In three years of existence of the GAC, Hada has tutored six offensive lineman and three running backs who have earned all-conference honors for the Bulldogs.

Prior to joining the staff at SWOSU, Hada spent nine seasons on the staff at Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) University. Hada began his coaching career in 2000 when he served as the defensive line coach and helped Olivet to a No. 13 ranking in the final NAIA poll. That year the Tigers qualified for the NAIA Playoffs for only the second time in school history. Hada was eventually elevated to the position of defensive coordinator and remained in that position for his final six years.

Hada has enjoyed a lengthy connection with Coach Cocannouer extending back to Hada’s playing days at Alva High School where he was an all-district selection for the Goldbugs in 1994 and 1995.

Hada played collegiately at Mid America Nazarene University, an NAIA school in Olathe, Kan. While at MANU, he was a three-year starter in the offensive line and was awarded the team’s most inspirational player. The Pioneers made three consecutive post-season bowl appearances in 1997, 1998 and 1999.

Hada has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Mid America Nazarene and later earned his master’s degree in teaching from Olivet Nazarene in 2002.

He and his wife Dana, have one daughter, Madelynn.
