Dantrell ‘Coach DT’ Barkley joined the SWOSU staff in 2024 and will serve as the Defensive Line Coach.
Barkley comes to Weatherford from Northwestern Oklahoma State where he was the Assistant D-Line Coach for the Rangers in 2023. He began his coaching career a year prior at UTPB where he was also over the Falcons’ defensive lineman.
As a player, Barkley began his journey at Independence Community College in Kansas where he was on the Indy team featured in Netflix’s Last Chance U season 3. As a top-ranked Defensive Tackle in 2017, Barkley eventually went on to transfer to North Carolina-Charlotte before two more stops at Tennessee at Chattanooga and finally Winston Salem State.
Barkley holds a trio of degrees – an associate's from Independence, a bachelor’s from UT Chattanooga, and a master’s from Winston Salem State.
