Chris Stutzriem

Chris Stutzriem joined the SWOSU Football Coaching Staff in 2018 and he will serve as the Bulldogs Offensive Line Coach this season.

Stutzriem comes to SWOSU after having spent the past two seasons serving as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at Rocky Mountain College – an NAIA institution located in Billings, Montana. Stutzriem helped the Battlin’ Bears to a 6-5 record and third-place finish in the Frontier Conference in 2017 while ranking third in the conference by scoring better than 30 points per game.

Before moving to RMC, Stutzriem was the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at William Penn from 2014-15 – his second stint at the NAIA school located in Oskaloosa, Iowa. In 2015, William Penn’s offense finished No. 1 in the nation in rushing yards (3,874) and rushing yards per game (352). The Statesmen averaged 38 points per game, which landed them in the NAIA’s top 15 for total offense and broke the school single game scoring record of 70 points by racking up 73 against Culver-Stockton. For his efforts, Stutzriem was the 2015 Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Assistant Football Coach of the Year award.

In between his two stints at William Penn, Stutzriem spent one season as the Running Backs Coach at the University of South Dakota. He started his coaching career as a graduate assistant working with Wide Receivers at William Penn from 2011-13. Stutzriem coached five all-conference players at William Penn, which included a two-time All-America wide receiver.

Stutzriem had a successful career as a college quarterback. He played at NCAA Division I programs Wyoming (2007-08) and Indiana State (2009) before finishing the final year of his career at NAIA powerhouse Morningside College in 2010. In total, he started 20 games during his college career and threw for nearly 3,800 yards and 36 touchdowns.

A native of Lawton and a decorated player at Eisenhower High School, Stutzriem earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sports Broadcasting from Morningside College in 2011 before completing a Master’s degree in Business Leadership from William Penn in 2013.
