Tyle Hankins joins the Bulldogs as an assistant baseball coach for the 2016 season. He will spend time with the infielders as well as a hitting coach and will also assist in the recruiting for the team.

After his playing career was over, Hankins spent two years at Byng High School in Ada, Oklahoma as an assistant coach from 2013 to 2014. In that time span, the Byng Pirates saw three trips to the State Tournament between both the fall and spring seasons. In 2015, Hankins rejoined East Central as a Graduate Assistant. He spent two years coaching the Tigers, before finding his way to SWOSU.

Hankins has also spent the last two summers as an assistant coach for collegiate leagues. In 2015, he spent the summer in Saskatchewan, Canada in the Western Major Baseball League coaching the Melville Millionaires. This past summer in Kansas, he coached the Derby Twins in the Jayhawk Summer Collegiate League.

Hankins played one year at Clarendon College in the Junior College ranks. His final three years of eligibility were spent at fellow Great American Conference school, East Central University. As a Tiger, Hankins was a member of the GAC All-Academic Team.

A native of Olustee, Oklahoma, Hankins received both his bachelor’s degree in History as well his master’s in Sports Administration from East Central.
