2014 (Junior): Played in the first eight games of the year before being sidelined to end the year…Recorded six tackles (three solo, three assist) while mainly playing special teams…Had a season-high two tackles (one solo, one assist) against Southeastern Oklahoma State (Oct. 18)…Earned third SWOSU letter.
 
2013 (Sophomore): Appeared in the final seven games of the 2013 season in relief action…Recorded at least one tackle in each game he played, finishing the year with 10 tackles (4 solo, 6 assist)…Notched a season-best three tackles and forced a fumble at Tarleton State (Nov. 9)…Earned second SWOSU letter.
 
2012 (Redshirt Freshman): Appeared in four games in a five-game stretch during the middle of the 2012 season…Finished the year with two assisted tackles…Recorded one tackle each in games at Southern Arkansas and Ouachita Baptist…Earned first SWOSU letter.
 
2011 (Redshirt): Redshirted during the 2011 season.
 
Copperas Cove HS: Graduate of Copperas Cove High School where he was a first-team, all-area selection for the Dawgs as a senior...Finished his senior season with 58 tackles and four interceptions...Selected to both the first-team, all-area and all-district squad...Honorable mention all-state pick.
 
Personal: Parents are Gene and Darlene Gilbert…Has a younger brother, Jalen, a redshirt freshman defensive back for the Bulldogs.
