SWOSU Football remains home Saturday night to host Southeastern Oklahoma State as part of Family Day and the Flex-Chem Classic. The Bulldogs enter the matchup 0-2 following a 37-14 loss to No. 2 Harding, while Southeastern comes to Weatherford at 1-1 after falling 23-17 to Ouachita Baptist last week.
Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. from Flex-Chem Field at Milam Stadium. Saturday's game is the second of six home contests for the Bulldogs this season.
SIX THINGS TO KNOW
1. FAMILY DAY FOOTBALL
SWOSU hosts Southeastern Saturday at 6 p.m. for Family Day and the Flex-Chem Classic. It will be the second of six home games for the Bulldogs in 2026.
2. DAWGS BATTLE NO. 2
SWOSU stayed within two points of No. 2 Harding late in the third quarter before the Bisons pulled away for a 37-14 win. The Bulldog defense forced two turnovers and held Harding to 314 rushing yards, its fewest against a GAC opponent since 2024.
3. RUN IT BACK
The Bulldogs won last year's meeting in Durant, 35-14, after trailing 14-7 at halftime. SWOSU scored 28 unanswered points after the break, forced three turnovers and did not commit a turnover of its own.
4. STORM STRENGTH: DEFENSE
Southeastern is allowing just 241.5 yards per game through two weeks, including 95.0 rushing yards per contest. The Storm have totaled 14 tackles for loss and six sacks.
5. TWO WAYS TO MOVE IT
Southeastern rushed for 233 yards in its season-opening win at Arkansas-Monticello before throwing for 307 yards against Ouachita Baptist last week. The Storm enter Saturday averaging 361.0 yards of total offense per game.
6. FAMILIAR FACES
Southeastern returned an experienced defensive group from last season. William Wallis, the Storm's leading tackler in 2025, opened the year with three sacks against Arkansas-Monticello.

Southeastern comes to Weatherford at 1-1 after opening the season with a 21-12 road victory over Arkansas-Monticello before falling 23-17 to Ouachita Baptist in its home opener. The Savage Storm have shown different looks offensively through two games, rushing for 233 yards in the opener before producing 307 passing yards against Ouachita.
Quarterback Levay Duncan threw for 245 yards and a touchdown against Ouachita while also leading Southeastern with 54 rushing yards and a score. Jax Sternberger caught 12 passes for 139 yards in the game. Through two weeks, Southeastern is averaging 361.0 yards of total offense, including 198.0 through the air and 163.0 on the ground.
Defense has been the early strength for the Savage Storm. Southeastern is allowing 241.5 yards per game and just 95.0 on the ground while holding opposing quarterbacks to a 50-percent completion rate without allowing a passing touchdown. The unit has collected 14 tackles for loss and six sacks through two games, including five sacks in the season opener.

BULLDOG BITES
OKLAHOMA SWEEP: SWOSU went a perfect 5-0 against Oklahoma opponents last season, beginning with a 35-14 win at Southeastern. It marked the Bulldogs' first undefeated run against in-state foes since 2016.
BEASLEY TIMES TWO: DeAndre Beasley has opened 2026 with back-to-back 100-yard receiving games, the first Bulldog to do so since Jared Rayburn in 2019. Beasley had 131 yards at Arkansas Tech and 101 against No. 2 Harding.
JACKSON PILES THEM UP: Keshaun Jackson recorded a career-high 15 tackles against Harding, including eight solo stops. His 22 tackles through two games lead the Bulldogs.
GOODEN GETS THE BALL: Malcom Gooden finished with 10 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss against Harding while recovering both fumbles forced by the Bulldog defense.
TAKE IT AWAY: SWOSU has forced five turnovers through two games, third-most in the GAC. The Bulldogs' four fumble recoveries also rank third in the conference.
TWO QBS, TWO SCORES: Knox Dyson and
Charles Mutter each threw a touchdown against Harding. Dyson connected with
DeAndre Beasley for a 60-yard score before Mutter found
Marcus Dockins Jr. from 19 yards out.
THIRD-DOWN STAND: SWOSU held No. 2 Harding to 3-of-14 on third down, including just one conversion on the Bisons' first 10 third-down opportunities.
MARTEL'S MEMORY: Red Martel rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns in last season's win at Southeastern, averaging 10.4 yards per carry with scoring runs of 44 and 66 yards.
SECOND-HALF SHUTOUT: SWOSU erased a 14-7 halftime deficit against Southeastern last season by scoring 28 unanswered points. The defense allowed just 14 yards across three third-quarter possessions before adding two fourth-quarter interceptions.
BIG PLAYS, BIG WIN: Four of SWOSU's five touchdowns in last year's 35-14 win over Southeastern came on plays of 43 yards or longer.
SPECIAL TEAMS SWINGS: Special teams proved pivotal against No. 2 Harding, with the Bisons scoring on a 98-yard kickoff return and blocking a 42-yard field goal attempt. A muffed punt also set up a short Harding touchdown drive.
SATURDAY SHIFT: After opening the season with back-to-back Thursday night games, SWOSU gets its first Saturday kickoff of 2026 against Southeastern. The schedule gives the Bulldogs two additional days between games following last Thursday's matchup with No. 2 Harding.
LAST TIME VS. SOUTHEASTERN
SWOSU erased a halftime deficit with 28 unanswered points to defeat Southeastern 35-14 last season in Durant. The Bulldogs trailed 14-7 at the break before opening the second half with a 15-play, 91-yard touchdown drive to tie the game.
Red Martel rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries, including scoring runs of 44 and 66 yards. MJ Rivers threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns, while Baylor Nash finished with 108 receiving yards and a 54-yard score.
SWOSU's defense shut out Southeastern after halftime and forced three turnovers. Aza'in Brown capped the victory with a 43-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs finished with 376 yards of offense, including 197 on the ground, and did not commit a turnover.
