WEATHERFORD – Kaysen Gipson (men's basketball) and Milly Hughes (track & field) have been named the Bulldogs of the Week, presented by Wright Media — the official partner for SWOSU athletic livestreams and radio broadcasts.

Gipson (Oklahoma City) provided a spark off the bench in Thursday's overtime loss to East Central, pouring in a career-high 16 points — all coming in the second half and overtime. Entering the contest, Gipson had logged double-digit minutes just once this season, but he played 25 impactful minutes against ECU. His energy helped fuel SWOSU's comeback from a double-digit second-half deficit to force overtime.

Hughes (Strawn, Texas) turned in SWOSU's top field finish at Saturday's Hendrix Invitational. The freshman placed third in discus with a throw of 40.01 meters, becoming just the fourth Bulldog in program history to eclipse the 40-meter mark — and doing so in her first collegiate outdoor meet.
