RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU Soccer claimed both of the Great American Conference's first weekly defensive awards of the 2025 season, with Julie Andersen named Defender of the Week and Emma Young earning Goalkeeper of the Week.

The recognition marks the third GAC weekly honor of Andersen's career, while Young, a freshman, received her first.

The duo anchored a Bulldog back line that held Western Colorado and Colorado Christian scoreless across 180 minutes of play. Young tallied 11 saves over the two matches, while Andersen contributed to her 17th career shutout in a SWOSU uniform.

SWOSU (2-0) looks to extend its win streak and shutout streak on Thursday, September 11, when the Bulldogs host Newman in the home opener at 4:00 p.m. in Weatherford.
