RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU Soccer freshman Saoirse Hourigan has been named the Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Week for Week Two, the league announced Tuesday.
Hourigan becomes the third Bulldog honored this season, joining Julie Andersen (Defender of the Week) and Emma Young (Goalkeeper of the Week), who were recognized last week.
The freshman forward played a key role in SWOSU's two victories, recording three goals and one assist across the matches. Against Newman, she assisted on the equalizer before scoring the game-winning goal. She followed that performance with two more goals in a win over Missouri Southern, giving her a team-leading four goals through the first four matches.
Hourigan is currently tied for the GAC lead in goals scored, while SWOSU stands as the conference's lone unbeaten team with four wins at 4-0.
