Alex Baxter Named Head Strength & Conditioning Coach

WEATHERFORD – SWOSU Athletic Director Todd Helton has announced the hiring of Alex Baxter as the new Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Bulldogs.

"We are excited to welcome Coach Baxter to Bulldog Nation," Helton said. "He brings great energy, proven experience, and a strong vision for the strength and conditioning program that will benefit all of our student-athletes."

Baxter takes over the program following his role as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Prior to his time at NWOSU, he spent time on the private side of strength and conditioning, working with athletes to develop performance and injury-prevention programs.

A Moore, Oklahoma native, Baxter is a graduate of Northwestern Oklahoma State, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Health and Sports Science. As a student-athlete, he played three years of college football for the Rangers.

"This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Bulldog Nation," Baxter said. "I look forward to bringing energy and passion to the weight room every day, and I'm committed to helping our athletes push themselves to new levels of performance."

Baxter is married to his wife, Carli, and they recently welcomed their first child, Colson, in 2025.
