The SWOSU Women's Basketball team (10-10, 6-8 GAC) currently sits in seventh place in the GAC standings, heading into this week's home games against Ouachita and Henderson State. Saturday's contest against the Reddies will come at an earlier 11:00 am time.

In their previous road matchups earlier in January, SWOSU defeated Henderson State 89-83 before surrendering a 20-point lead in a 57-50 loss to Ouachita two days later.

Ouachita Baptist (8-10, 4-10 GAC) has lost five of its last six games and boasts a 2-6 record outside its home arena. In their previous game against the Lady Dawgs, Ouachita used a 28-0 run in the final 12 minutes to secure a seven-point victory. Madeleine Tipton leads the team with 14.2 points per game, including 11 points and six rebounds against SWOSU. Ouachita has the second-lowest scoring offense in GAC competition, averaging 58.9 points per game. They also have the worst turnover margin in the conference, averaging -3.64 per game, and rank last in steals, with 5.14 per game. In their previous matchup, SWOSU won the turnover battle 19-8.

SWOSU leads the all-time series 25-9, dating back to 1998. However, Ouachita has won the last two matchups. In Weatherford, the Lady Dawgs hold a 15-1 record.

Henderson State (9-11, 7-7 GAC) will face Northwestern on Thursday before traveling to Weatherford on Saturday. In their previous matchup, SWOSU defeated the Reddies, led by Mason Jones' season-high 20 points. The Lady Dawgs shot a season-high 28-32 from the free-throw line. Henderson State is led by Brynlee Huggins (15.7 points per game, third in the GAC) and Natalie Cardenas (14.8 points per game). In the last matchup, the duo combined for 40 points against SWOSU, with Huggins scoring 24. Henderson State is the third-highest scoring team in GAC play, averaging 67.2 points per game, but allows the most points to opposing teams, at 70.1 points per game. They also have the highest three-point percentage (36.3%) in the GAC and make a league-best 8.6 three-pointers per game.

Since 2009, SWOSU holds a 20-10 record over Henderson State, including a 10-2 record as the home team.

SWOSU has a chance to pick up two crucial wins this week, staying in postseason contention. Averi Zinn, who reached the 1,000-point milestone last Saturday against Harding, leads the team with 11.4 points per game. Hailey Grant (9.2 points per game) and Layni Zinn (9.1 points per game) round out the top three scorers. SWOSU ranks last in the GAC in field goal percentage (34.5%), three-point percentage (26.3%), and opponent three-point percentage (37.8%). They also have the worst rebounding margin, at -7.8, against GAC opponents.
