The SWOSU Women's Basketball team (12-10, 8-8 GAC) secured two crucial wins over Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist last week and will look to carry that momentum into this week's home matchups against rival Northwestern on Thursday and Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday.

It's the final full week of home games SWOSU will play in the regular season. Six games remain on the schedule – three at home, three on the road.

In their previous matchup against Northwestern on January 23rd, the Lady Dawgs suffered a 53-36 loss, shooting just 2-24 from three-point range. The 36 points scored was the lowest total since 2015.

Northwestern (12-10, 9-7 GAC) enters Thursday's game holding a one-game lead over SWOSU in the conference standings, making Thursday's matchup crucial for future potential tournament seeding implications. The Lady Rangers have won two consecutive games, led by Payton Jones' 13 points per game and Carly Craig's 10 points per game.

Camille Thomas ranks seventh in the GAC in rebounds (6.1 rpg) and steals (1.7 spg), while Craig averages a team-high 1.9 steals per game. Northwestern boasts a top-three offense in the league, averaging 68.0 points per game, while limiting opponents to 61.7 points per game. They also lead the league in offensive rebounds, averaging 14.1 per game.

SWOSU has dominated the rivalry since 2013, holding a 21-7 record, including an 11-1 mark in home matchups. The lone home loss came last year, when the Lady Dawgs suffered a 66-52 loss.

Southeastern Oklahoma State (15-7, 12-4 GAC) sits third in the GAC standings and will face ECU before traveling to Weatherford on Saturday for their second matchup of the season. In their previous meeting, the Savage Storm secured a 62-48 win, outscoring SWOSU 31-16 in the second half.

The Savage Storm is led by the GAC's top scorer, Caitlin Kobiske, who averages 18.2 points per game. Kenzli Warden (12.8 ppg) and Holli Lindley (10.8 ppg) round out their top three scoring options. As a team, they have a -2.2 rebounding margin, ranking 11th in the conference. The Savage Storm excel at the free-throw line, shooting a nation-best 82.2% on 16.8 attempts per game.

Historically, the series dates back to 1998, with SWOSU holding a narrow 31-29 edge over Southeastern, including an 18-10 record in Weatherford.

SWOSU seeks to win three consecutive games for the first time in conference play this season. Averi Zinn (11.2 ppg), Hailey Grant (9.5 ppg), and Layni Zinn (9.2 ppg) are the Lady Bulldogs' top three scorers. Averi Zinn's 1.9 steals per game rank fourth in the conference. SWOSU boasts the best turnover margin in the GAC (+6.32) and averages 9.68 steals per game, second only to Northwestern.

Mason Jones averaged 14.5 points per game last week on 11-of-16 shooting. SWOSU is 8-1 this season when Jones scores 10 points or more.
