RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - SWOSU Football's
Ethan McBee has been named the Great American Conference Co-Special Teams Player of the Week for week five, the league announced Monday.
McBee's honor marks the second straight week a Bulldog has earned GAC Player of the Week recognition, following
Zack Roberts' defensive award last week. It is also the first Special Teams honor for SWOSU since
Elijah Reed in 2022, and the first of McBee's career.
In Saturday's matchup against Henderson State, McBee connected on a season-long 36-yard field goal and went a perfect 3-3 on PAT attempts. He also executed a successful onside kick that fueled the Bulldogs' late comeback push. SWOSU nearly recovered a second onside kick in the final 20 seconds, but the play was nullified due to an offsides penalty.
The Bulldogs return to action this Saturday when they travel to Southern Arkansas for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
