Six from SWOSU Basketball Named CSC Academic All-District

WEATHERFORD – A total of six SWOSU Basketball student-athletes have been named to College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District teams.

Women's basketball had four earn the honor, Rees Berkey, Lanie Gooch, Averi Zinn, and Libbi Zinn, while the men's team had Mason Hart and Ben Smith represent them for a second straight year.

Academic All-District selections were based on combined academic and athletic qualifications. Student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games/contests. In addition to the athletic qualifications, student-athletes must also hold a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative GPA or higher and be at least a sophomore.

Selections for track, cross country, golf, baseball, and softball will all be announced later in the spring.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 16 (women) and April 17 (men).
