SWOSU Women's Basketball remains at home on Thursday for a conference matchup with Oklahoma Baptist in what will be the final GAC contest before Christmas Break.

The Lady Bulldogs, fresh off a thrilling 62-60 win over East Central on Monday which snapped a four-game losing streak, will look to continue that momentum against OBU in attempts to continue to climb out of their 0-3 start to conference play.

It was the second half against ECU that was the difference maker. After a poor start which had the Lady Dawgs trailing by 15 points at halftime, SWOSU turned things on after halftime with 15 forced turnovers and back-to-back quarters of 44% shooting or better highlighted by six three balls and 11-of-12 from the free throw line.

The improved shooting seemingly snapped SWOSU out of a funk that aligned with the losing streak. The Bulldogs hadn't finished at 40% or better from the field in consecutive quarters since facing UCO back on November 23. The Lady Bulldogs are 5-0 this season when they shoot 39% or better from the field.

Against SNU last Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs had a seven-game streak snapped of forcing more turnovers than their opponent. They got back to their ways on Monday by beating ECU in the turnover category by a +9 margin. SWOSU leads the league in turnover margin, getting the better of opponents on average by nearly 7.5 per game as one of two teams in the GAC averaging 20 or more forced turnovers a game.

Mason Jones finished with a season high 17 points against ECU. SWOSU is 4-0 when Jones finishes in double figures and 1-4 when she does not. Averi Zinn had two steals against the Tigers and has had two or more steals in four of the last five games. Her 1.9 steals per game is seventh in the GAC.

Oklahoma Baptist enters Thursday sporting an 8-2 record and a perfect 4-0 in conference play. Both of their losses this season have, however, come on the road. In four GAC games, the Bison are averaging 72 points per game and beating opponents by nine per night. They've held league opponents to just under 38% shooting, ranking them second in the GAC. Their size has produced a league-leading 5.5 blocks per game through the first four games of conference.

Since 2011, SWOSU is 10-1 against OBU in Weatherford. The lone loss came back in 2022 when the Bison beat SWOSU 72-52 which snapped a 14-game Bulldog winning streak against them. The Lady Dawgs are 19-4 all-time against the Bison which includes wins in the last three matchups after the aforementioned loss in 2022.
