DURANT, Okla. – SWOSU Volleyball grinded out a three-set win over Southeastern on Thursday in the regular season finale for a seventh straight win.
The victory gives the Bulldogs 20 on the season – the fourth time SWOSU has achieved the 20-win milestone since competing in the Great American Conference.
Sets one and two were tight throughout, but it was SWOSU who got the edge by two points in both. The second set required 10 additional points to decide a winner in a 31-29 affair. The first two sets featured a staggering 26 ties and 11 lead changes.
After two close ones, SWOSU found success late in the third to pull away with more breathing room and earn the sweep.
Lacy Mott (16) and Paris Patterson (13) combined for 29 kills to lead the offense. Patterson did so with just two errors on 25 attacks.
Jada Permenter led the Bulldogs with 15 digs. Both Hailey Smith and Samantha Kuzma were in on four blocks of SWOSU's seven total blocks on the night.
SWOSU hit .259 collectively, compared to SE's .164.
With the regular season wrapped up, the Bulldogs will eye the GAC Tournament set to commence next Thursday-Saturday in Hot Springs, Arkansas. As the No. 1 seed, the Bulldogs will take on 8-seeded Henderson State at 3:00 pm with the final league standings finalized after the night's action.
