BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – SWOSU Women's Golf wrapped up the fall season with an eighth-place finish at the Tulsa Cup, highlighted by another top three individual finish by
Freya Sala.
The host team Rogers State (+49) won the tournament by 22 strokes over GAC foe Harding (+71) and RSU's Lydia Sitorus took home the individual title by six strokes.
SWOSU once again was at the top of the boards for average par-3 scoring throughout the three rounds of play, ranking second at a 3.28 scoring average just behind Harding.
Sala started hot with a 69 (-3) right out the gate in round one, after stumbling in her second round she was able to come back on day two and remain among the top golfers in the field. She shot a final round 75 (+3) which was enough to keep her in solo third for the tournament. Sala also finished T-2 for the best par-4 stroke average at 4.23.
Drew Dodgion had a strong day one performance with rounds of 73 and 76 to put her as the top Bulldog heading into day two. She finished tied for 17th – her fourth time in five fall tournaments landing inside the top 20. Dodgion was one of 12 competitors to record an eagle in the tournament after she scored a three on a 447-yard par five in round two.
London Wilson (+32) and
Ashlyn Acosta (+32) both arrived at the same final position on the leaderboard. Wilson had her best round in the form of a 78 (+6) in round one with 12 pars while Acosta had two consecutive rounds of 83 before cutting off one stroke for her final round of 82 (+10). Wilson finished in the top 3 in par three scoring for the tournament with an average of 3.08.
Lucia Rivas rounded out the Dawgs with five birdies in her three rounds.
The Lady Bulldogs will now enjoy the remainder of the fall semester away from competition before picking back up in the spring of 2025.
