WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Hunter Tate (rodeo) and Marleigh West (track & field) are the newest Bulldogs of the Week. This award is brought to you by Wright Wradio, the official partner of SWOSU Athletics for both livestream and radio.
Tate (Riverton, Kan.) impressed at the 50th Annual SWOSU Rodeo this weekend. He was the lone cowboy to ride both bulls in both rounds of bull riding. He scored an 80-point ride in the first round and improved to an 84 in the short round. It is his second time this year finishing either in sole possession or tying for the top spot in bull riding.
West (Edmond, Okla.) produced the best performance of her SWOSU career at the SCU/Paul Parent Invitational on Saturday. She won the discus event after her best attempt of 37.78 meters. She came in second in the shot put, narrowly missing the top spot by just .01 meters. Her shot put attempt narrowly missed the SWOSU shot put record as well. Her strong outputs helped SWOSU take first place in the invitational.
