WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU Baseball pushed its win streak to four following a 17-3 run-rule victory over non-conference foe Cameron on Tuesday.
The win moves the Dawgs back to an even 11-11 on the season. SWOSU wraps up its five-game homestand and will hit the road to Searcy, Arkansas this weekend to battle Harding in more GAC action.
Cameron picked a bad time to roll into Weatherford. Coming off a weekend series sweep of East Central in which the offense scored 47 runs in three games, SWOSU continued that momentum on Tuesday with 12 hits resulting in 17 runs. Cameron pitchers didn't help their cause much by walking 12 Bulldogs, which only further added to the baserunner count.
SWOSU scored in every inning of the game, including an 8-run sixth inning that broke things open for good.
Geoff Marlow led the way with a 2-2 day at the plate with a home run, double, three RBI, and three runs scored – all while walking an additional three times. Jackson Syring (2-3; 2B, 2 RBI, 3 R) and Cade Hamilton (2-4; RBI, R) both added two hits apiece.
On the mound, SWOSU pieced things together with four arms total making appearances. Ernesto Hidrogo started and threw the first two innings. He allowed two unearned runs before handing the ball off to Logan Lagasse who threw the next two innings. Lagasse balked in a run but struck out three in his outing. Wyatt Sharry (2.0 IP) and Philip Sanders (1.0) put up zeros the rest of the way.
