The defensive intensity increased in the second half. SWOSU completely shut down the Tigers offensively. After giving up the lead at the 7:34 mark in the third quarter, SWOSU ended the game on a 35-4 run. They limited ECU to four points in each quarter, shooting 2-22 in the latter half. Offensively, they shot an efficient 14-27 in the final two quarters to completely overpower East Central.
