DURANT, Okla. – SWOSU Volleyball swept past Southeastern on the road on Tuesday in 3-0 fashion. The win also secures a regular season sweep of the Savage Storm after having also beaten them back on September 21 back at home.
The Bulldogs get win number 10 of the year in GACtion, extending their streak to five consecutive seasons eclipsing the double-digit conference win mark which dates back to 2018. (*excludes shortened covid spring '21 season)
The win pushes SWOSU's win streak over Southeastern to eight matches.
SWOSU dominated the opening set, scored eight of nine points in the middle part of set two which allowed the Dawgs to win comfortably again, and fought off a set point in the third before finally putting things to bed with a late rally to win it.
Zoey Sparks missed tying her season high by one kill tonight and finished with 11. She, alongside Lacy Mott who also had 11 kills, led the offense by both hitting well above the .300 mark while combining for just three errors.
The final numbers had SWOSU hitting .261 as a team, compared to .139 from Southeastern. The Dawgs gave the Savage Storm fits at the service line, tying a season high with 10 aces. Cameron Turner and Terez Chavez combined for seven of those.
Jada Permenter paced the team in digs with 13.
The next match for the Bulldogs comes on Thursday, on the road at Southern Nazarene where they'll have another opportunity to collect a regular season sweep. First serve for that match is set for 7:00 p.m.
