CANYON, Texas – Bulldog Volleyball returned to the court on Saturday in Canyon, Texas, closing out the West Texas Lady Buff Classic with a pair of close matches against foes from Texas.
SWOSU (0-4) will return to action next weekend in Denton, Texas, at the Texas Woman's Pioneer Classic, which begins on Thursday afternoon.

The Bulldogs won the first set 25-22 over WT in Saturday's opener before succumbing in four. SWOSU had advantages in kills (56-52), aces (7-4), assists (53-47) and digs (71-60), but they were undone by 36 attack errors, which led to a .120 attack percentage for the match.
Lacy Mott led the Dawgs with 12 kills and seven digs while
Markenzie Benoit and
Chezney Nielsen had 10 kills apiece.
MacKenzie Harless hit a team-best .381 with nine kills on 21 swings and just one attack error.
Allie Hoang again recorded a double-double of 44 assists and 18 digs in addition to two service aces while
Sophia DeSantiago had 20 digs.

The first set was hotly contested with 21 ties and seven lead changes, but ultimately it was St. Edwards who scored two in a row to put it away at 29-27 and with it the Hilltoppers claimed the momentum for the remainder of the match. SEU would win the second set 25-18 and scored 11 of the final 13 points to claim the third at 25-13.
Taryn Galt had 10 kills and hit .300 for the match while Nielsen had nine kills, six digs and three blocks.
Lacy Mott had six kills on 17 swings while four other players combined to finish with 11 kills as the Dawgs hit .134 for the match.
Allie Hoang had 25 assists to lead the team and
Maribel Aumoeualogo posted a team-best 10 digs.
