EDMOND, Okla - SWOSU soccer picked up its second win of the season, against Oklahoma Christian, winning 2-0. This also is SWOSU's first road win of the season and their first shutout of the season as well.
It was a defensive showdown in the first half. Both offenses attacked early, each team having a shot on goal in the first 15 minutes of the contest.
The score was tied at zero at halftime. SWOSU had chances to score, but could not convert, having three corner kicks, compared to Oklahoma Christian having just the one corner kick. Each team had four shots and only two of them were on goal. Each team had two saves.
The Bulldogs were aggressive as they had four offsides calls against them, compared to Oklahoma Christian having one offside call. SWOSU had one yellow card and two fouls.
The Dawgs nearly scored a goal three minutes into the second half, but
Anna Bager's shot missed just right. SWOSU kept shooting their shot and in the 69th minute of the game,
Desiree Rodriguez scored, putting SWOSU up 1-0. Five minutes later, SWOSU doubled its lead to 2-0 as
Juliana Rocha scored a goal, assisted by
Elizabeth Moreno in the 74th minute. Rocha had three shots on goal.

Ashley Hughes also had three saves for the Bulldogs. SWOSU had seven shots on goal and Oklahoma Christian had three shots on goal. SWOSU head coach Mark Perrson wants his team to continue to keep winning and building confidence, as Great American Conference play begins in two weeks.
SWOSU snaps its three game losing streak and improves to (2-3). SWOSU soccer returns to the pitch, 3 p.m. Sunday at West Texas A&M University.
