DENTON, Texas - The SWOSU Bulldogs volleyball team earned two wins Saturday and is now a .500 team, as they won four straight games this week at the Texas Woman's Pioneer Classic this weekend.
 
 
SWOSU 3, Texas-Permian Basin 0
 
SWOSU won the first set 25-21 and there were 12 ties in the first set. They won by a larger margin in each set. They won the second set 25-14 and never trailed as there were no lead changes. The Bulldogs won the third set 25-13 and this win is SWOSU's first sweep of the season.
 
SWOSU beat Texas-Permian Basin in kills (47-24), hitting percentage (.237-.064) sets,(42-20), aces (4-1), and digs (80-56).
 
Allie Hoang had a double double, with 36 assists and 18 digs. Samantha Kuzma and Tayrn Galt recorded 12 kills. Markenzie Benoit recorded three blocks and had 10 kills. Chezney Nielsen recorded 13 digs and eight kills. 
 
SWOSU 3, Texas Woman's University 1
 
SWOSU struggled in the first set, losing 25-15. In the second SWOSU got off to a hot start, leading 11-5 early in the set. Texas Woman's made a run, but SWOSU won the set 25-18 with a kill by Benoit. The third set was a seesaw match with five ties and four lead changes, but SWOSU prevailed and won the set 25-19. The fourth set belonged to SWOSU, winning 25-13 and there were no lead changes.
 
SWOSU beat Texas Woman's in kills (52-37), hitting percentage (.204 .137), sets (39-29) and digs (55-44).
 
Benoit recorded 14 kills and a .632 hitting percentage. Nielsen recorded 12 kills and 42 attacks. Hoang recorded another double double with 32 assists and 11 digs. Sophia Desantiago recorded 11 digs as well. Galt recorded 23 attacks and eight kills. 
 
SWOSU (4-4) will play their first home game and their first Great American Conference game, 7 p.m. Thursday against No. 12 Oklahoma Baptist.
