WEATHERFORD, Okla. – On a windy afternoon in western Oklahoma, Southeastern Oklahoma State pushed across the lone run of the game in the top of the sixth inning to defeat SWOSU 1-0 at the Athletic Complex in Weatherford.
 
The first four innings were played smoothly on both sides and a 45-minute lightning delay was the only thing that could halt the pace, doing so with one out in the top of the fifth. After play resumes, Southeastern loaded the bases with two outs, but Miranda Grover got a strikeout and ended the threat.
 
SWOSU would not be so fortunate in the sixth inning, however, as Southeastern turned a leadoff single into an RBI groundout for the lone run of the day. The Bulldogs would get one runner on base in each of the final two innings, but they were unable to move them past second base.
 
Grover (4-9) pitched admirably, allowing one run on five hits while striking out five in a complete-game effort.
 
SWOSU and Southeastern will conclude their series with a doubleheader beginning at 11:00 am.
