#17 Lady Bulldogs to Resume Divisional Play

Preview

• The league-leading and #17-ranked SWOSU Women’s Basketball team returns to action this weekend as they open the second round of Great American Conference play

• SWOSU enters February with a 9-1 record and winners of three straight games after dropping their lone contest of the season to East Central on January 23

• The Lady Bulldogs are ranked #17 in the first Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll of the season and they are receiving votes in the D2SIDA Media Poll

• At 9-1, the Lady Dawgs are one-half game up on East Central in the GAC Western Division standings with each team defeating the other on their home court

• SWOSU will play three home games in the upcoming round of divisional play, hosting Southeastern (Feb. 4), Northwestern (Feb. 8) and Oklahoma Baptist (Feb. 13) while traveling to East Central (Feb. 6) and Southern Nazarene (Feb. 11)

• By order of the Great American Conference Council of Presidents, a limited guest list has been approved and will allow players and coaches to permit selected individuals into home contests

SWOSU Notes

• The Lady Bulldogs have scored 90 or more points in six-of-ten games this season and they’re currently ranked third in NCAA Division II with a scoring average of 89.3 points per game for the year

• SWOSU currently leads the country in three-point field goals per game (11.8) and assist:turnover ratio (1.72:1) while also ranking second in steals (16.5 per game) and fourth in both scoring margin (+20.5) turnover margin (+12.0)

• Sophomore Makyra Tramble was named the GAC Player of the Week on Monday for the third time in four weeks after leading the Lady Bulldogs to a 3-0 record last week

• Tramble has scored at least 14 points in each game this season and she leads the conference in scoring (21.3), steals (4.2) and three-point field goals (3.4) per game

• Bethany Franks became the 14th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark for her career and she’s up to 13th on the career scoring list with 1,030 points heading into the week

• Franks is also closing in on the 900-rebound milestone, needing three rebounds to join Kelli Litsch (1,213) and Hailey Tucker (920) in the exclusive club

• Karly Gore matched a season-high with 19 points in back-to-back games at Northwestern Oklahoma State and Oklahoma Baptist and she’s second on the team averaging 15.2 points per game for the year

• Taber Beer became the 14th player in SWOSU Women’s Basketball history with 100 made three-pointers and she will soon be joined by Tramble, who enters the weekend with 98 threes made in her career

• Lauren Ramey scored a season-high 19 points in the Lady Dawgs win at Southeastern and she’s third on the team with an average of 10.2 points per game for the year

• SWOSU has five different players with 20 or more steals this year in Tramble (42), Beer (32), Karly Gore (42), Macy Gore (22) and Franks (20)
