• SWOSU Men’s Basketball enters the second half of the Great American Conference schedule tied for second place in the GAC’s Western Division with a record of 5-4

• The Bulldogs return to action with three of their next five games on their home court at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center, where they are 2-2 this season

• SWOSU will host Southeastern Oklahoma State on Thursday (Feb. 4) before heading to Ada to face East Central on Saturday (Feb. 6)

• The following week will feature three games, with home games against Northwestern Oklahoma State (Feb. 8) and Oklahoma Baptist (Feb. 13) bookending a trip to Southern Nazarene (Feb. 11)

• Through the first half of league play, SWOSU is tied with SNU for second place in the GAC’s Western Division, which is a game and a half behind Oklahoma Baptist in first place and one-half game ahead of Southeastern in fourth

• By order of the Great American Conference Council of Presidents, a limited guest list has been approved and will allow players and coaches to permit selected individuals into home contests

SWOSU NOTES

• Through nine games, the Bulldogs lead the Great American Conference and rank 13th in NCAA Division II with an offensive attack averaging 86.4 points per game

• In their January 23rd victory over East Central, SWOSU set a new single-game school record with 22 made three-pointers, the highest total in an NCAA Division II game this season to date

• SWOSU’s 118 points against ECU also established a new program best since the formation of the GAC and it’s the fourth-highest single game point total in NCAA Division II this season

• Damion Thornton leads the Bulldogs this season, averaging a double-double of 18.0 points and 10.2 rebounds per game, marks that rank him fourth and second in the conference, respectively

• Tauriawn Knight has been a great addition for the Bulldogs this season, ranking second on the team with 14.9 points per game while shooting 45.1% (23-51) from three-point range

• SWOSU is the third-best three-point shooting team in the conference, connecting on 87-232 (37.5%) attempts from long range this season

• Kamden Gipson has scored in double figures in four straight games, including a career-high 26-point effort against ECU, and he’s now averaging 11.3 points per game for the year

• The Dawgs are currently ranked fourth in the conference in steals with 7.2 per game and they’re second in the league with a turnover margin of +4.56

• Chris Braggs, Jr., scored a season-high 17 points in 20 minutes of action at OBU before fouling out, which he has now done in two straight games and three times this season
